Eric W. Phillips & Robbie X. Pierce (Writers)

Eric & Robbie have been writing, producing and performing together since 2010 and spend way too much time discussing multiverses. They met while doing theater in college and formed the sketch comedy group Corduroy Commandos where they combined their unapologetically idealistic forces and forged a mission statement for their work: “To transform ourselves and the world around us through humor, caring, and vulnerability.” Their work has been showcased at iO West, UCB LA, The People’s Improv Theater NY, and others. They also wrote and directed Les Midge: A Hobbit Musical which received Best Musical and Best Direction at the 2015 San Diego Fringe Festival and played at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con. Robbie X. Pierce has written for The Advocate, covering LGBTQ, Latinx, Ex-Mormon, and comedy. His autobiographical play Wings of Wax, about growing up as a gay Mormon and working as a missionary in Chile, has been performed in various locations in the country, and he has had various plays, poems, and essays published. He and his husband are also amazing foster parents in Los Angeles. Eric W. Phillips has written for The Umbrella Academy on Netflix, For All Mankind on Apple TV, the CBS Diversity Comedy Showcase, the Anna Akana youtube channel, and also created and wrote the book and co-lyrics for Fox News The Musical. Eric is also a proud girl-dad and can’t stop Dad-ing so hard, even when the jokes are terrible. Herowood Boulevard started as a TV pilot written by Eric and Robbie in 2014 and was a semi-finalist in the 2015 Final Draft TV Writing Competition. It has had various staged readings and live performances and they are excited to finally share all the stories they’ve created in this vast world.

Cathleen met Eric & Robbie in the most “meet-cute” way possible (aka at a comic con). When she’s not out hanging out at coffee shops with her husband and eating cookies, she works as a visual development artist and illustrator in Los Angeles. She works in both digital and traditional media, specializing in background and character design, as well as comics and storyboarding. Her previous projects include creating key artwork for the 2021 Los Angeles Pan Pacific Film Festival, working as a sketch artist for Upper Deck/Marvel Comics, and illustrating the artwork for the “What the Film?!” party card game (produced by Lethal Chicken Games). She also co-published the children’s book “It’s Sandcastle building Day”, worked on the cover art for the book, “Gondolier”, and illustrated posters for the city of Old Town Pasadena in California. Cathleen also exhibits her artwork at comic conventions throughout the country, some of which include San Diego Comic-Con, C2E2, Salt Lake City Comic Con, and New York Comic Con. Her work has also been exhibited in galleries and museums in the southern California region.
Some of Cathleen’s current projects include concept and character design work for the 2D animated film “What We’re Meant For”, a YA fantasy graphic novel based on a filipino magician, and illustrating epic super-hero scenes for the Eric & Robbie and the Herowood Boulevard series.
